Access to the nest of tawny owl via webcam:
The “Falcons of Théding” present: the “Tawny Owl of Théding” !
This aviary dedicated to the Tawny Owl has been installed since the fall of 2021, following the presence of this owl in the garden.
It is fixed 5 meters above the ground, in a tree (a walnut tree) at the bottom of the Théding garden.
An IP camera fixed to the ceiling makes it possible to observe the nest from above. This camera is equipped with a motorized zoom, enough to get either a wide view to see the balcony of the nest box, or a close-up of the chicks.
This camera is connected by a long Ethernet RJ45 cable with POE function (internet + electricity).
Since the activity of the owls is mainly at night, the camera is equipped with an infrared vision.
For more technical information, read the ‘behind the scenes‘ page.
To date, the camera has not detected any visit to the nesting box. Therefore, the live remains inactive for the moment.
The reproductive period of the Tawny is very early in the year: spawning is usually observed in February. The young leave the nest in April before they are able to fly
